I operate as an independent consultant specializing in strategy and marketing. My intention is that deliverables are focused, strategic and practical for clients, enabling them to grow their business.
In the main, my clients are B2C with consumer-facing brands. I have specific category knowledge in Alcoholic Beverages (deep knowledge), Beauty and (increasingly) Food. In general, I am comfortable working with a consumer brand in any category.
However, I also believe my skill set and processes can be applied to wide range of industries inc. B2B and non-profit.

I can assist you in developing liquor packaging / liquor brand design. I work with clients to set their strategic objectives and prepare the brief. I can assist brands in finding and selecting an agency to develop their brand / packaging - including my preferred agency partner, "Stranger & Stranger".
For brands seeking a detailed and rigorous brand positioning (new or revised), I work with a specialist marketing agency "Jester & Genius" that develops "Brand Stories" which form the foundation of the brand for the long term.
For brands seeking assistance in developing innovation, I work in partnership with Outcast Innovation Agency, a group of independent disruptors helping entrepreneurs & intrapreneurs build bold, amazing businesses in Innovation, Brand & Design. Outcast can lead every aspect of innovation development from creative concepting to testing and implementation roadmaps.
Work can be developed "from scratch" OR take existing work in place with a view to "stress testing & refining". I avoid applying a "not invented here" mindset and look to incorporate existing thinking where solid / applicable as well as the viewpoints of management / founders.
I have the ability to assess / define a strategy through the lens of i) consumers & customers; ii) brand; iii) business.
I was the client. I understand your challenges as it relates to business goals and brand progression as well as internal stakeholder management. Equally, I have worked service side and understand client needs, especially adhering to deliverables and deadlines.
I can operate autonomously with minimal supervision: I apply a leadership mindset to all work. I am an adept slide writer and able to adjust the style to fit in with corporate / brand templates and tonality. I am noted as a strong presenter, comfortable in front of senior management, multi-functional teams and large audiences.
I am a full team player and understand the result as-a-whole is what counts. I have strong collaboration skills with “let’s get hands dirty” and “one team” mindset.
I work to deliver decks, briefs, brand guidelines, plans, budgets, process documents, creative deliverables etc.
I consider myself sharp and curious. I can’t know everything, but I learn fast and apply a “let’s figure it out” mentality.
In developing the scope of work, I will define a clear set of deliverables together with a time estimate. The engagement costs will be calculated by applying an hourly rate to this.
I operate on a principle of "full transparency" and aim to deliver work at a cost that is fair and represents the value delivered. I am open to discussing costs & rates with any client / prospective.
Should work look to exceed the agreed time estimates, I will always seek approval in writing before applying further hours to the engagement. All expenses are pre-approved in writing, in advance.
